Trustees

Susan Severt is Chair of the Sun Valley General Improvement District (SVGID) Board of Trustees and brings more than a decade of dedicated public service and leadership to the traffic safety improvements along Sun Valley Boulevard. Susan received the Jefferson Award in 2007 for her extensive community service, which includes founding Sun Valley’s first teen center and leading initiatives focused on youth development, health, and civic participation. She also played a key role in advocating for Nevada’s misdemeanor manslaughter law in 1997.

She has completed several citizen academy programs through local government and law enforcement agencies and earned a Certified Public Official designation from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her current leadership roles also include serving as a Washoe County Debt Commissioner and as a representative on the Western Regional Water Commission.

Susan’s priorities as Trustee include delivering safe, affordable water, maintaining clean and accessible sanitation systems, and investing in parks that serve families of all ages.

She believes strong public service is rooted in accountability, forward thinking, and community pride.
