Summertime Fun

The Sun Valley Pool celebrated opening day, on the last day of school, with over 200 guests enjoying the sun and the pool. Local television stations came out to cover the event and everyone was very excited. Thanks to a professional team of lifeguards, everything went smoothly. A free swim day on June 21 was also a hit and was sponsored by the Robert & Norma Fink family. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Dive Into Summer Recap

On the same day the pool opened, the District’s 2nd Annual “Dive into Summer” event continued to celebrate the day with a barbeque, crafts, raffle prizes and at dark the movie FROZEN was shown. 300 local residents came out to enjoy the fun and the movie. A big thank you to all of the sponsors that provided raffle prizes which included free dining, overnight hotel stays, local casino shows and much more. We look forward to the next movie in the park scheduled during the Summer Blowout Friday August 8, with details to follow.

Message From Sandra Ainsworth, District Trustee & Chair

I am hoping you are all enjoying Summer in Sun Valley. The Valley has a lot to offer from our parks to the Robert & Norma Fink Pool Complex, senior activities at the Neighborhood Center and special events highlighting activities for families. As a longtime resident of Sun Valley, my husband Jim and I have raised our children here and now we enjoy their children as proud grandparents. As residents and District customers we understand the various issues in the Valley, such as traffic, safety, business development and safe neighborhoods. As a trustee, I work with the other District trustees to see that the District provides the absolute best service to our customers, and along with our services, the highest quality of water. We monitor water rates and in doing so we also encourage our residents and businesses to conserve water however they can. Our goal on the board is to serve our customers, and help them however we can. I personally have been honored to serve as Chairperson for the District Board of Trustees. I encourage our customers to try and attend one or more of our board meetings. We are very interested in what you have to say. Our meetings are held every second and fourth Thursday at 6 pm and are held at the District board room located at 5000 Sun Valley Blvd. I look forward to seeing you. – Sandra Ainsworth, District Trustee and Chairperson SVGID
