JERRY PAYNE TRIBUTE
The Sun Valley community is saddened by the passing this past September of longtime resident Jerry Payne. Jerry, a contractor, former Sun Valley GID Trustee, Sun Valley Citizen Advisory Board member and all around community advocate was well respected and will be missed by so many. Jerry loved Sun Valley and was instrumental in its development and growth until his passing. The District will certainly miss him and his contributions to the community.
On November 9, 2017 the Board of Trustees approved an increase of $1.77 per month to the water base rate and decreased the Water Facility Fee to $7,381.00 along with other minor language edits to Rule 5, 23, 26 and 28. Amended rules became effective December 11, 2017. To review the District’s Rules and Regulations please go to the District’s website under Customer Information.
PREVENTING FROZEN PIPES
Preventative maintenance of your home’s pipes can save a lot of trouble and money. Many homes in Sun Valley are not built on a foundation and are more susceptible to frozen pipes. The water pipes under your home, as well as the exposed supply lines are recommended to be wrapped with heat tape. It is important not only to make sure that the heat tape is working before the cold sets in, but also check the heat tape frequently during the cold months as they can burn out. It is also important that you make sure that there are no openings in the skirting around your home.
